What is SmartID Signature?

The SmartID is a qualified electronic signature (QES) which meets all the legislative requirements and is equal in its legal force to a handwritten signature.

It is stored in the protected cloud and can be used only with access to “Privat24 for Business”. The SmartID signature allows users to sign and submit payments, documents, reports, confirm identity and receive public services using a smartphone.

When using this technology, your personal data remains completely protected and securely stored in the “cloud”, and the access is protected by three passwords: of your smartphone, of the application and of the SmartID signature.

Frequently asked questions

Should I worry about legality of the SmartID signature?

The SmartID has the same legal force as a handwritten signature. It is stipulated by the Law of Ukraine “On Electronic Identification and Electronic Trust Services”.

Can SmartID be forged?

Third parties will be unable to use, copy or forge the QES. The system is highly protected when you log in.

SmartID cannot be lost or forgotten. You won’t be affected even if you lose your phone. Without having the Privat24 password and the SmartID password no one can use your QES.

How to revoke the certificate of QES key or IES file?

On the PrivatBank ACSK website - acsk.privatbank.ua - go to the “Online Services” tab and click “revoke certificate”. Log in via Privat24, select one or several certificates and revoke them.

Can I delegate the right to sign with my SmartID?

No, you cannot. SmartID is the analogue of your handwritten signature. But you can authorize generation of the SmartID QES to sign non-risk operations.

How can a sole entrepreneur work with the SmartID signature?

Customers who are serviced in PrivatBank as sole entrepreneurs can:

  • sign and authorize on external websites as individuals (instruction);
  • use keys of an individual or a sole entrepreneur for signing in “Privat24 for Business”.

How can a legal entity work with the SmartID signature?

Customers that are served in PrivatBank as legal entities can obtain a key if such legal entities are authorized and have the right to sign.

How to add/change signatories for your company?

To change the signatories, visit a bank branch to update the data.

  • For sole entrepreneurs: submit a notarized power of attorney to the bank or issue a bank power of attorney at any PrivatBank branch.
  • For legal entities: submit the latest wording of the company articles to the bank, either the original or a notarized copy, and the order for appointment or the minutes of the general assembly

The authorities to work in “Privat24 for Business” can be granted for performing non-risk operations, i.e. creation of payments, electronic documents, invoices, payrolls, electronic reports in the menu: “Settings” – “Access”.
