What are the limits for the card-to-card money transfers?

The limits are set from the first to the last calendar day of the month.

For sender

The number of transfers per month available for one customer is 200.
The monthly limit for a transferred amount for one customer is UAH 1,000,000.

For payee

The number of transfers per month available for one customer is 200.
The monthly limit for a transferred amount for one customer is UAH 1,000,000.
The limits are applied to services of PrivatBank, of Ukrainian banks and international services.

What is the time for money transfers to be enrolled on a payee’s card?

A card-to-card money transfer from PrivatBank is particularly convenient as a payee will receive funds in the shortest possible time. If you make a money transfer in an online mode, the money is enrolled to a payee’s account almost instantly, and the funds are available for use right away. And if the transfer is made in the currency of a payee’s card, no double conversion will be applied on his side.

In which currency can I make a money transfer?

Money transfers between your cards are made in the following currencies:

  • hryvnia;
  • US dollar;
  • euro.

Money transfers from abroad to PrivatBank cards can be made in hryvnias, US dollars, euros and Polish zlotys.

Money transfers from PrivatBank cards to abroad can be made in hryvnias, US dollars and euros.

If you need to send money to another customer in Ukraine, then you can do it using instant card-to-card transfers with PrivatBank; they are available in hryvnias only.

From October 5, 2022, international P2P transfers from PrivatBank hryvnia payment cards to cards of foreign banks are prohibited.

Now you can make fast card-to-card money transfers from various countries using PrivatBank services. But it is important to keep in mind that card-to-card money transfers from another country can be made not between all the world countries: the geography of sending a transfer depends on the card’s payment system. If a sender’s card belongs to Visa payment system, the transfer from a foreign card to PrivatBank card can be made from all countries, except for the following territories and countries:

If a card belongs to the Mastercard payment system, transfers can be made to a PrivatBank card from a card issued in European countries and CIS.

Can I send a money transfer from a foreign Visa or Mastercard card using the mobile application of Privat24?

Yes, you can. Privat24 mobile application is one of the most  convenient services for sending money transfers online. To make a card-to-card transfer to a foreign bank, you should log in the application, then click “Transfers” on the main page. When selecting a sender’s card, swipe the screen from left to right to open the field for filling in the card details.

When the card details are entered into the opened field,, select the transferred currency, indicate the transfer amount and click “Next”. The international card-to-card money transfer will be made immediately, as soon as payment details are verified and the “Confirm payment” button is pressed.

What are the restrictions for card-to-card money transfers established by international payment systems?

Mastercard
No more than USD 10,000 to one Mastercard card of a Ukrainian or foreign bank can be transferred per month.

Visa
No more than USD 20,000 to one Visa card of a Ukrainian bank can be transferred per day, no more than USD 50,000 can be transferred per week, no more than USD 100,000 per month.
No more than USD 10,000 to one Visa card of a foreign card can be transferred per day, no more than USD 25,000 per week, no more than USD 50,000 per month.
No more than USD 10,000 from one Visa card of a Ukrainian bank can be transferred per day, no more than USD 25,000 per week, no more than USD 50,000 per month.

Total restrictions for money transfers made by a customer via the PrivatBank services, when the transfer is made through the Visa payment system:

  • No more than USD 1,000 to one Visa card of a Ukrainian bank can be transferred via PrivatBank channels/20 transfers per day, no more than USD 25,000/50 transfers per week, no more than USD 50,000/100 transfers per month.
  • No more than USD 5000 to one Visa card of a foreign bank can be transferred via PrivatBank channels/10 transfers per day, no more than USD 15,000/25 transfers per week, no more than USD 25,000/50 transfers per month.
